Fertiliser Sheds
Bairnsdale Engineering:
Fertiliser Sheds
Protecting fertiliser from moisture and contamination is essential to maintaining product quality and maximising the return on your investment. Bairnsdale Engineering designs and manufactures custom fertiliser storage sheds for the safe and efficient storage of bulk fertiliser, bagged products, and agricultural inputs.
Storage requirements vary significantly between operations. Whether you require a simple fertiliser storage shed or a large multi-compartment facility for multiple product types, we can design a solution to suit your site, storage volumes, and operational requirements.
Design options include ventilation systems, concrete dividing walls, and large-access openings to improve product separation and allow efficient loading and unloading with modern handling equipment.
Our shed frames are manufactured from universal beam (UB) steel, with connection plates factory-welded to rafters and columns for strength, accuracy, and efficient installation. All columns and rafters are hot-dip galvanised to provide long-term corrosion resistance in demanding agricultural environments.
Whether you’re storing a single product or managing multiple fertiliser types, Bairnsdale Engineering can deliver a practical, durable storage solution designed around the way your operation works.

Options and Features
Concrete Panels
Essential for fertiliser storage. Steel work can be fabricated for easy integration.
Insulation
Key to preventing the build-up of condensation on the roof helping to reduce moisture in the shed.
Sliding Doors
Offer large clear access for tipping trucks and fertiliser wagons.
Universal Beam Rafters
Offer of low profile yet heavy-duty frame and maximise internal height clearance.
Ventilation Solutions
Such as roof whirly vents are essential for reducing dust inside a fully enclosed building.
Hot Dip Galvanised Columns & Rafters
Provides ultimate corrosion resistance in caustic environments for long-lasting performance.
Client Outcome
A local fertiliser spreading business saw its customer demand increase, but without bulk storage capacity, their service options were restricted.
Following consultation with customers and in response to increasing demand, the decision was made to approach Bairnsdale Engineering to explore options for a bulk storage facility.
Having previously built a ‘Bairnsdale Shed’ for machinery, the team was engaged again to deliver a purpose-built solution. The design prioritised moisture control and height clearances.
Now with capacity for bulk storage, service to the local agricultural industry more than doubled within the first 12 months – improving operational efficiency and reliability.
