Hay Sheds
Bairnsdale Engineering:
Hay Sheds
Hay and fodder represent a significant investment for any farming operation. Protecting them from rain, moisture, and weather exposure is essential to maintaining feed quality and minimising spoilage.
For many of our clients, a three-sided hay shed provides the ideal storage solution. Clad on three sides with one long side left open, these sheds are typically oriented to the north or east to reduce exposure to prevailing weather. Access is a key consideration, and our clear-span designs can provide large, unobstructed openings that make loading and unloading safer, faster, and more efficient.
Bairnsdale Engineering hay shed frames are manufactured from hot-rolled universal beam (UB) steel, with heavy-duty connection plates factory-welded to rafters and columns for strength, durability, and efficient installation. The robust UB frame is designed to withstand the demands of a working farm and provides a stronger, more durable alternative to many light-gauge framed hay sheds. For maximum longevity, we recommend hot-dip galvanising the columns and rafters to provide superior corrosion resistance.
A well-designed hay shed helps protect feed quality, reduce spoilage, and maximise the value of every bale stored under cover.
