Calf Sheds

It is vital for calves to be raised in an environment that is clean, dry and well-drained with appropriate ventilation and temperature and humidity levels. Our ventilated calf sheds are designed to offer optimal shade throughout the hot summer days whilst providing maximum sunlight during the cold winter months.

With a focus on animal welfare, Bairnsdale Engineering has developed a rear wall ventilation system. A gap under the overhanging eave facing the prevailing weather helps to ensure there is no stale air building up in the calf shed. The overhanging eave offers weather protection, helping to prevent the calf bedding from becoming wet from the rain.

Bairnsdale Engineering’s calf shed frames are manufactured from RHS (Rectangular Hollow Section) or UB (Universal Beam) with connection plates factory-welded to rafters and columns for superior strength and ease of installation. We strongly recommend hot-dipped galvanized coated columns for ultimate corrosion resistance.
