Bowdens Ag is an established agricultural contracting business based in Yarram, providing professional contracting services across a 100km radius since the late 1980s. As the company’s fleet expanded, additional undercover storage became essential, both for protecting valuable machinery and maintaining the clean, organised presentation expected of a professional operation.
Having previously engaged Bairnsdale Engineering to build a workshop and machinery shed, owner Wayne Bowden returned to the team to deliver a larger, purpose-built structure designed specifically for his growing business.

The Solution: A Large-Format Machinery Shed
Bairnsdale Engineering designed and constructed a 60m x 21m span machinery shed, completed in February 2025. The structure was tailored to accommodate modern agricultural equipment and provide efficient, safe access and storage.

Wide clear span: Maximised usable space for large machinery, with unobstructed movement and parking.

Site-specific configuration: A part-clad end wall customised to suit Bowdens Ag’s existing layout and traffic flow.

Performaflow Gutter: A downpipe at each corner of the shed reduced the risk of them being damaged from heavy vehicle traffic.
- Universal beam columns and rafters: The low profile, yet heavy-duty, frame offered maximum height clearance inside the shed and provided less places for birds to roost.
After a few months of planning and permitting, the final build came together quickly, a testament to Bairnsdale Engineering’s project management and practical expertise.
